Our little farm is part of The Pontiac Garden & Gifts Tour this year
August 4th and 5th, 2018
10am to 4pm
Come explore the beautiful Pontiac region on a self-guided garden tour of 9 country gardens. Meet a variety of artisans selling their paintings, books, local produce, nursery stock, seeds, crafts, cards and artisanal products. You can find all of the participants and a map on how to get to them here on their website. We are #2 on the tour.
Although the heat and sun has been a little brutal on our flowers, we would still love to see you. There will be a free kid’s craft and don’t forget to bring a picnic, tour our grounds and shop from some gorgeous artists. Want to know who is going to be there? Here is a sneak peak!
Kathy is a self-taught artist from Aylmer, Quebec who works in graphite, colored pencils and acrylic paints. She discovered her love for painting in 2004, after being encouraged by her daughter.
She soon realized that she loved the feel and the flow of the brush on canvass and the ease at which colors are blended and manipulated to render beautiful outdoor scenes! Her love for nature is what inspires her, particularly, water, trees and mountains and this is reflected in her paintings.
Anne of Atelier 333 operates out of a tiny workshop in Aylmer, Quebec, where she has lived most of her life. Recently – gratefully – retired from the civil service, she longed to return to one of her soul’s callings: art and design.
The day she started working with tin, she knew she had found a new passion. She loves the process of acquiring a tin, finding the beauty in it, and giving it a new life.
The process involves dismantling, hand cutting, hammering and then grinding and polishing the tin before assembling the pieces, using nickel- and lead-free findings and glass and stone beads. Every piece is original and careful attention is given to craftsmanship and design.
Jaime is a self-taught traditional artist based out of Aylmer, Quebec. Her preferred medium/method is a combination of graphite, charcoal and ink, pulling inspiration from interesting facial compositions – she thrives on layering the complex terrain of varying skin textures, hair and fabrics.
Most of her content is a collection of celebrity skins, movie moments, pop culture and cult classics; having a deep love for film she enjoys recreating screen shots and pulling together portraits of her favorite actors and actresses.
Dabbling in photography she recently has begun conjuring up her own content and is available for commissioned pieces. Follow her on Instagram (@jjacksonart) for updates on her latest works.
Renée Savoie of Luskville, Quebec lives on Mountain View Farm with her husband, three girls, dog and 18 chickens.
Her calling is to help people craft a life they love and to bring creativity into it. She feels it is important to find your tribe and she loves bringing people together through collaborations, workshops, retreats and fairs. She has taught mixed media across Canada and in the US for the better part of a decade but her favourite place to create is in her country studio which you will be able to see on the tour. She will have paintings, prints, embroidery and few other things for sale.
We may be adding more artists so don’t forget to follow us on instagram (@mountainviewfarmqc) to get the latest information.
Come hang out and spend the day discovering the Pontiac, we really are a lot of fun, I promise!!
