All the Easter Things

I don't know about you but I am super excited about the four day weekend coming up! With Easter days away, I have been snooping around to see how we could make the holiday a little more special for the kids. We usually head to my in-laws for the weekend but with this Corona virus happening, we obviously can't do that this year so everyone is a little disappointed. I came across some pretty cute stuff so I thought I might share all the Easter things I came across. The first thing I was looking for were ways to decorate eggs. Especially since we are getting tons of them from our chickens now ...

Refrigerator Dill Pickles

I don't know about you but we are big fans of dill pickles around here, especially our youngest. More and more we are trying to make things ourselves so Amelia and I thought we would try making refrigerator dill pickles. They are easy to make, and there's no need for pressure cookers, special jars, and vacuum-tight lids. I don't know about you but I have been getting a little more serious about doing my part to help save the planet. The scale of the challenges facing our planet can seem daunting, but we can all do something and protecting our planet starts with each and every one of us. With that in mind, I thought I would try to make our Christmas stockings a little more sustainable this year. While doing some shopping for my family, I came up with this list of 20 sustainable stocking stuffers. When looking for gifts I always try to look local first and usually a local artisan if possible. Why shop at a ...

It’s Pumpkin Time!!

The countdown 'til All Hallows' Eve is on!! Soon our munchkins will don their costumes and hit the streets to fill their pillow cases with treats, but first, pumpkin carving!! I am sure we aren't the only family tackling their pumpkin carving or decorating this weekend so I thought I would help you with the process.   Clean out your pumpkin I am sure you all know this but you first need to cut a hole into your pumpkin so you can clean out the guts. Personally, I think doing it from the bottom is better so that the candle can be put on a flat surface and is more stable. Once that is ...
